Uses:
440C balls are used extensively in bearing applications requiring good toughness, hardness, dimensional stability and corrosion resistance.  440C stainless steel balls are also used in corrosion resistant ball and check valves. 

Corrosion Resistance:
Maximum resistance to corrosion and tarnishing of 440C stainless steel balls is developed only when fully hardened an, and with surfaces polished to a high luster.  Typical environments in which 440C stainless steel balls resist corrosion are in fresh water, steam, crude oil, gasoline, perspiration, alcohol, blood and foodstuff.
