Uses:
Carpenter 20 balls are used in the manufacture of synthetic rubber, high-octane gasoline, solvents, explosives, plastics, synthetic fibers, heavy chemicals, and food-processing equipment.  Where purity must be maintained in the processing of foodstuffs or dyes, Carpenter 20 balls are used to protect the end products from the danger of metallic contamination.

Corrosion Resistance:
Carpenter 20Cb-3 balls have superior resistance to 10-40% sulfuric acid at temperatures from the boiling point of sulfuric acid at the higher metal temperatures found is heat exchanger equipment.  The improved material has superior resistance to stress corrosion cracking in boiling 20-40% sulfuric acid as well as other media.
